It sounds like you are constipated, but don’t worry because there are many ways to ‘relieve’ yourself from the bloated and clogged up feeling. Constipation is a symptom of decreased frequency in bowel movements; this is usually down to unhealthy eating habits and lack of fluids.

Firstly, to help relieve constipation in the fastest and most painless way possible, try to drink plenty of liquids. Eliminate juice, soda and caffeinated beverages like coffee from your diet as they tend to contain excessive sugar that could actually exacerbate constipation. Instead, opt for plenty of water (two to four extra 8oz glasses of warm water on top of the recommended eight glasses a day) and prune juice. Green tea is also an excellent remedy to help cleanse and remove toxins out of the body.

Secondly, swap junk food for healthier ones that are high in fibre like prunes (these contain a mild stimulant called sorbitol which naturally relieve constipation), banana, black beans, corn and Lima beans which help to aid digestion.

Try swapping a greasy fry-up for a bowl of high fibre cereal and a slice of whole-grain bread for breakfast - you’ll feel the results in no time. Thirdly, get plenty of exercise and keep your body moving! Taking a low-key 30-minute walk is all that is needed to promote healthy bowel movements and to keep the digestive system active. You may also find your stress levels significantly reduced as a result of fresh air and more exercise. Try sticking to this healthier regime for the next few days and your bowels will be back to normal in no time. Be patient!

You don't need to "take" anything, you need to change your diet. You need to increase the amount of fresh fruit and vegetables you eat every day. Apples, pears, grapes, raisins... And seeds... These are a good place to start. You should also switch to wholewheat bread and pasta instead of the white stuff...

I have the same problem, only its severe all the time. I once went 2 weeks without pooping and ended up in the ER.... I take a medicine called suboxone and it ruins my ability to go. I take fiber supplements and it does nothing... I exercise and everything! What I have learned to do is a small liquid suppository, that is the only thing that will help me remove the mass, because thats what it is, a large non- removable thick solid mass

You really need to relax and if you are a female or know one close to you .... Get a douche bottle and empty it. The fill with shampoo, body wash or dish liquid and as hot of water as possible and insert in rectum and allow all of the contents to stay as long as possible.(lay in tub for as long as you can) then try to go to the bathroom again. This is like a home made enama. This does work ,may have to do once or twice. Plus better than dr. Digging around in there.

I understand the feeling, I have IBS, a lot of it is your diet but I don't suggest to make a cold turkey change. I tried to give up drinking coke cold turkey and went straight to water for 4 months and caused me more attacks.I thought I was doing everything right eating healthy and exercising I did what everyone told me was the right way and what should work, well everyone's body is different. I would say of course talk to your doctor is the best thing, you need to find out what works best for you. For example I started drinking coke again just less portions basically starting from 50/50and slowly decreasing the amount, same with food my foods intake as well. It has been working me the big change just made things worse.

Get a Hand Bidet Sprayer from www.bathroomsprayers.com and you can use it like a personal home colonic by shooting a blast of water up inside. It's far faster and more effective than an enema and it feels great too!

I have a severe neck injury which causes pain all over my body, but pain medications cause severe constipation. I am on so many medicines to move things along and to soften things up, but every week I find myself crying and sweating trying to move my bowels. This caused hemorrhoids and now it becomes very very painful to pass even smaller stools. I can't win. Diet and fluid levels are fine but sometimes just telling someone to eat a salad or detox their bodies isn't going to help a lot of people, especially if they are in that acute stage of crying on the toilet.  What I find most useful is a fleets enema, if a glycerin suppository won't allow things to start leaving the body. This is aweful but it works, and it is the same thing as any ER would do for you.

You should be eating a salad every day and drink more water. You can get Colace (a stool softener), take 2 before going to bed. Then one each night.  If you are taking any meds, that
may be contributing to your problem.  Speak with your doctor.

Cabbage is a good roughage, or even cold slaw.  My ex-son-in-law told me about the benefits of canary seeds for human consumption.  He has reflux, and since he has taken the seed (you make a milk from the seed, he says he feels much better and more energized.
