You may be dreaming and some how may not be aware of it . You think that you are actually awake.

It is called sleep paralysis, and they, associate it with narcolepsy. THEY, meaning any doctor or specialist. THEY believe it is a dream. I am beginning to think people that suffer from this horrible condition, are also starting to believe its a dream. Maybe they their embarrassed or just willing to let the specialists think for them. But it is real, I have had it for years. It is no dream, I have confirmed this by asking people who have been in the room with me while I am napping on the couch. I can retell them word for word everything that they had said or done. They had confirmed that they had said the things I heard. Although, they probably think I'm a nut and that I was really just lying there awake. But who cares,, I know I was paralyzed, awake and not just dreaming...I will wake up and be able to hear everything going on around me. I will not be able to respond though. As hard as I try, I will not be able to open my eyes, speak or move any part of my body. I try so hard to scream for my husband to come over and touch me or just help me up. But nothing comes out. I have learned to just try and relax, and sometimes going back to sleep helps... Fighting it does no good. Anyway, other than it being annoying, it has not hurt me in any way...
