AIDS will occur when someone is infected with HIV and did not seek early treatment and management. This may happen if the person had an HIV test at a very late stage upon infection such that the CD4 count test has dropped to below 200. It may also be as a result of poor nutrition. Basically, anti-retro viral drugs and adequate nutrition are factors for slowing down the progression of HIV to AIDS.
