When the ring worm gets onto the skin of a human body, its gestation period gets started, which is around four to ten days.

Yeah but how long after contact does it get into the body? Meaning if i touch someones infection do I automatically get it? Or can i wash it off? If so how long do I have to wash in off before it gets into my body?

You do not really mean gestation period, I think you mean incubation period. That is the time between acquiring an infection and showing of symptoms.
Ring worm is the common name for fungal infection in the skin, and can be caused by different fungi, the dermatophytes. It is readily treated.
If it has taken three weeks to show symptoms he is unlikely to have caught it while with you.
Children usually catch this from each other, or from infected pets such as kittens or puppies. If this is the case - the animal will need treatment too.
