How Does E. Coli Spread And Attack?

E. Coli is a gram negative bacteria. Usually not harmful and present in the intestine of human. Under certain conditions it can be harmful causing UTI and diarrhea in children. They are not transmitted from one to other person. They are already present in our body

In my biology paper it was asking HOW they are transmitted from person to person so it can be done - though I'm not sure how, sorry :)
