I have the same problem. I can sleep for 2-3 hours and then wake up with pain that ranges from mild to very severe. Heat seems to help sometimes. Also, Tylenol will ease the pain occasionally. I am so tired from interrupted sleep. It rarely hurts in the daytime. It seems to occur at night 95% of the time. Have you found out what is causing your discomfort? Thanks...

Every night I have this very sharp pain that lasts all night, on my right lower abd., side goes around to my back, I can barely move to the other side it hurts so bad. But dr. Say theres nothing there. I do have a enlarged appendix but they wouldn't take it out cause its not infected, so I'm just confused on whats causing all this pain at night.

Doctor is right it can be a pulled muscle. Usually electrolyte imbalance cause this problem. Take one glass of water with slight table salt and lemon juice in the evening. To clear your doubts go for ultrasound of your abdomen.

There must be some other symptoms associated with the pain in the lower side. If you are also experiencing a bloated stomach, you might be having appendicitis or inflammatory bowel disease. You must consult your doctor who will recommend you to have several tests like Abdominal CT scan, colons copy etc.
