Until they are treated. It's a good idea to check everyone who may have also been contaminated. Check for nits , especially behind the ears. Buy a lice killing treatment and several cans of lice spray. Apply the treatment. In the meantime, strip all washable linens on the childs bed, boil all hair brushes, combs and hair accessories , bed and any furniture the childs hair may have touched, INCLUDING THE CAR, car seats, furniture in the house. After the treatment, comb the hair, section, and pick through strands being careful to remove nits , which are eggs. The treatment will NOT kill the nits, and you will have to go through this whole nightmare again if you don't get them all out. They can be removed simply by pulling them out with your fingernails, holding the hair strand with your other hand. After this is done, you may send them back, but remember to check for nits every day for a couple weeks, and check everyone in your house for them also, They tend to be behind the ears.
