Herpes is caused by the virus which can be either HSV1 or HSV2. Genital herpes has typical sores, pain and itching in the genital area. So, herpes does not cause pelvic pain directly but can cause indirectly due to secondary infection caused by bacteria which remain untreated for long duration leading to pelvic inflammatory disease.
