I think it is not an insect or any bite. It can be phlebitis. There are many reasons which can cause phlebitis. These are Injury to vein, prolong sitting, no exercise, obesity, pregnancy, birth control pills, smoking, blood disorders, cancer, side effects of some medicines etc. It will be good to visit a doctor for proper diagnosis and its treatment.
