Maybe its a pinched nerve ?I'm not a doctor or anything but if your arm hurts to the point you can't move it your first instinct should have been going to the emergency room severe pain that gets worst in a short period of time could  possibly be a serious condition and should receive attention immediately you need to take better care of yourself. Aslo taking pain medication for along period of time is not a good idea your body can develope a tolerance and therefore you have to keep increasing your doses you should only take them when you need them and should only use an appropriate dosage, taking three pain pills at a time cannot be good for your nervous system but then again I'm not a doctor so your best bet see a doctor if you haven't already and really even though I'm giving you and answer you rely shouldn't post that you want medical advice there's no telling what kinda bad advice you would receive only a doctor should give medical advice.

EXACTLY! I think you hit the nail right on the head. I "thought" I WAS asking advice from people in the medical field and that's why this question is here, but I guess any idiot with an opinion can get on these sites and give advice all willy nilly. I'll know better from here on out. By the way, I did go to emergency room and was given the Percoset from the ER Doctor and was told to take it. I just couldn't explain all that because we are limited to about 100 words. If I had explained that, it would've taken away from the explanation of what I'm going thru. Next time anyone on here gives advice to someone, they should consider ALL the circumstances and not "assume" they know anything!!

Sounds like a trapped nerve chiropractors can manipulate your neck to alleviate the pain you may need anti inflammatories to take down any swelling

It could be your discs.  They or one could be rubbing on a nerve and causing your arm to hurt!  I have been having the same problem for the past week and have been reading up on this.Go see your Dr.  Get him to order special x-rays for this (maybe I's a herniated disc)  too many possibilities.    Hope the best.

If you have had any problems with your neck before (trauma) that might have caused it. Your discs could be herniated. Your brain might not recognize where the pain really is so it is using your arm as the source of pain. Your neck discs could be rubbing together and hitting a nerve. Go and get some x-rays on your neck.

I don't even pretend to know the answer but it sounds like you should have already been to a doctor instead of just taking pain meds that you should not just have lying around unless you already we're prescribed them and your just pulling our legs on this question...and if the pain meds we're prescribed for something else and your using them for this pain why we're you prescribed meds your not using for what they we're prescribed for in the first place...I think doctors warn against self medicating because it could conceal hide other problems since you don't sound like your a doctor and I know I'm not...you need to see a doctor instead of waiting around and asking us questions you should be talking to a doctor about...later hope this helped....

You shouldn't make assumptions about someone unless you know for sure what you are talking about. I find your comments to be rude and ignorant at best. For your information, I couldn't explain the whole thing because we are limited to 100 words. Next time, ask, instead of making snide ASSUMING remarks you know nothing about!

if and i say if you we're prescribed the meds for the shoulder/arm pain then you obviously already knew the answer(from the doctors examination).... i never assumed anything i went by the information provided by you...if you consider the truth to be snide or ignorant then you should not ask the question unless you can handle the truth...again the remarks we're according to the information provided.... if you don't take the advice given by a doctor or refuse to use the treatment as prescribed how do you expect anyone else to give you a answer you would accept to your ailment?like you said you failed to provide the whole case for your question....sort of like withholding evidence when in court...how do you expect someone basically off the street to give a acceptable solution to the problem/case/question?:) later like i said before i hope this helped

Sorry I have to say one more thing. Instead of insulting the negative feedback, give a little more info after their comments. That way they can help out a little more.
