They could very well be swollen lymph nodes, you do have some located in that particular area. Lymph Nodes are part of your immune system, and are tiny egg-shaped glands which aid the removal of bacteria and drain excess fluid from body tissues. A visit to your G.P or Ear, Nose and Throat specialist will be able to establish whether or not it is a case of swollen lymph nodes, as it’s a possibility it may be a knot, muscle tightness or some other condition with no relation to your Lymphatic System. If it turns out that your lymph nodes are swollen this may be nothing to worry about either, as they often swell up and can become painful with the onset of cold symptoms, and they can stay swollen for up to a fortnight after the cold itself has gone.

Popular and effective treatments for swollen nodes are rest and relaxation, warm compresses and by employing the primary back stretch, an exercise which some patients claim helps to drain the Lymph Nodes. There are a variety of conditions that your swollen nodes may simply be a symptom of with Toxocariasis, Tuberculosis, Lymphoma, Leukemia and Lymphoedema also effecting the bodies Lymphatic System and causing the glands to swell and soreness. Although this is not something that people with these symptoms should worry about, as swollen nodes are a very common medical condition, but in order to dispel any of the more serious conditions it is advisable to make an appointment with a qualified professional as soon as possible.

There are lymph nodes on the back of the neck one on each side of your spine at the base of your skull. Swollen lymph nodes are usually a sign of infection, but it can also be many other things like an abscess, cancer, immune or autoimmune disorders... So if swelling persists see a doctor.

Most likely you have swollen Lymph Nodes. You need to see you family doctor and have this checked out sooner rather than later. You may need antibiotics or even testing for more serious conditions. Good luck and God Bless you.

Yes these are lymph nodes . When they become painful and swollen it is a sign of an infection close by. Probably a bad tooth or an earache.
