It's perfectly normal.  Hormonal changes are what causes your lymph nodes to swell.

Thanks for asking that question. I was just trying to look up this same thing. I have a tenderspot in the armpit, but it doesn't feel much like a lump. Just a little. I also feel like I get pains all over in different places now before my menstrual cycle. It's strange.

On the 19th day of my cycle I get a swollen, painful gland under my left armpit also. It lasts for about 5 days. It has happened for the last 3 months. I was looking for info, it looks like this is normal. Thanks. I see my gyno in a month, an will have my yearly mamo and ultrasound.

I have this too and it's under my left arm pit every month. It starts around day 20 or so and then subsides usually around the day I get my period. I've had 3 doctors examine and tell me I am fine and it's nothing to worry about. Apparently it's attributed to changes in cycle hormones and it's normal to have swelling in breast area or armpit for some people. But if anyone has a swollen armpit it's better to go to your own doctor and get checked out just to be sure.

I have had the same exact problem!  It hurts so much sometimes!  I went to three doctors, an infectious disease doctor and a breast surgeon who took out two lymph nodes to rule out cancer.  I began tracking the swelling and tenderness and it is two weeks prior to my period.  Is this normal to just start having this?  I'm 28 and never had any problems like this before.  I don't understand why this is happening now?  Should I stop birth control?
