Its a cloudy membrane that can grow over your eye/s and can cause virtual blindness if this membrane is not cut away and replaced by a plastic lens. How good it works depends on so many factors.
I myself developed Cataracts in both eyes about 5 years ago and I had inplants in both eyes.
