Some causes of low blood pressure or hypotension are pregnancy, heart problems, like heart valve issues, or low heart rate, thyroid issues, blood loss, dehydration, and severe allergic reactions.

Only thing to prevent it, make sure you keep yourself hydrated, the other issues really need to be treated by a physician.

There are many causes of Hypotension (also known as low blood pressure). I've described some of them below:

During the day your blood pressure can go up and down and there are various causes as to why hypotension occurs some of the main causes include the following:

  • Stress
  • Your age
  • The time of the day
  • Exercise
  • Your diet
  • If you have eaten enough

All these factors can cause hypotension. If you too much exercise or too little this can arouse hypotension. In addition if you have not eaten sufficiently and have a poor diet you may experience hypertension. Other factors such as stress, the time of day, your age and mental wellbeing all play a part in arousing hypertension and it important to take care of your mental and physical wellbeing.

How can I prevent hypotension?

Hypotension can be prevented by doing the following:

  • Start your day with light daily exercise as this helps to have a positive impact on your blood pressure throughout the day
  • Keep hydrated by drinking lots of water as if you feel heated and your temperature rises this can lower your blood pressure
  • Ensure to have essential vitamins such as Vitamin C and B12 which can be found in foods such as milk, yoghurt and tuna.
  • Eat a healthy and balanced diet to remain nourished and fit. Try to include a variety of wholesome foods in your diet such as fruits and vegetables to get the most nutrients out of your daily intake.

I hope this helps to answer your question :)
