You'll find it's much less painful than putting up with the ingrown toenail, which will progressively become more painful.
Sure, there'll be some discomfort, but it won't last and you'll feel a whole lot better for it.

No sugarcoating here, its really going to hurt and if you have a family DR you best go to him and let him numb the toe. After its done, there really is immediately relief though, and next time don't let it get so bad. Good luck
