Where did it originate? Umm....it's nothing more than a bacterial infection....so it originates with an overgrowth of bad bacteria.

Bacterial vaginosis is a
vagina infection caused by overgrowth of anaerobic bacteria.
It can affect women of any age. Anaerobic means the bacteria doesn’t
require any oxygen to grow.
