I think so. I get depressed when I'm bored but I usually find something to do to distract myself and I'm fine. Or best of all, I'll either play a PC game or lay down and read a good book. No more depression.

Don't confuse clinical depression with 'feeling' depressed or down.  They are not the same thing.

We, as human beings, often experience highs and lows in terms of feeling happy or depressed.  There are many varying factors that affect those swings of mood and even emotion .. Like for example, the amount of sleep we've had the night before, underlying emotional trauma (like an argument with a loved one), frustration or stress (like losing your favorite set of sunglasses) .. Too many elements in the emotional roller coaster to spray paint the reasoning behind how we feel in terms of being 'up' or 'down' ..

However ... Clinical depression is affected by other things than what typcially happens in our day to day events .. Chemical imbalances in the brain will compromise those 'ups' and 'downs' .. Of which most often can be treated and controlled  with medications to bring back balance to the unbalanced.

Nope.

Not even you.

If you're depressed, there's a reason for it.  Even if YOU don't know what it is.  So you should talk to a doctor or psychiatrist, if you find yourself getting depressed regularly.

Defining what you call depression would help in giving you the correct answer. Mood swings are a lot less serious than true depression. Are you an active person? Do you have good friends? What do you enjoy doing? Are you a negative person or positive, Do you have a complaining spirit?

What you might simple need is a change in lifestyle or attitude. Is the glass half empty or half full? We can not always control what happens to us but we can control our response to it.
