Yes, I've suffered insomnia my whole life. It's been pretty bad. I have found that for me taking any medication, melatonin, or even alcohol made it worse. So, I just stick to my schedule and do my best.

No, not too much. The meds I have to take usually put me to sleep for the count. But I'm a very early riser as I need to come here and keep things cleaned up. But I do get 4 to 6 hours a night and that's enough for me.

I've been dealing with insomnia for the past 23 years.  For many years I was dealing with doctors for help.  Basically I've gotten to a place where I've just learned to live with it.  Don't get me wrong, if I started sleeping more normally tonight, I'd be thrilled!!!!  I'm just not holding my breath.

Interesting---I have a similar pattern.

Usually wide awake after 5 to 6 hours; up for an hour or so and have coffee; and then back to bed for about 2 hours.

Doesn't matter what time I go to bed---10:30PM or 2:00AM.

No, but if I get startled awake at some point, like I did this morning, then I probably won't be going back to sleep.
