Symptoms of distemper can take 14-18 days to appear after virus transmission. Distemper  is caused by a highly contagious virus. In dogs, virus is called canine distemper virus and in cats feline distemper virus. Distemper virus can affect gastrointestinal. Respiratory and nervous system of affected dog or cat. It is transmitted through aerosol droplets, secretions of eyes, nose, urine and other body fluids of infected animal. Its symptoms are diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, loss of appetite, paralysis, blindness, seizures and tremors.

Distemper is diagnosed by complete blood test, urine test, CSF test, and x-rays of chest and abdomen. No treatment is available. Only symptomatic treatments are available option.
