Dear Guest:

There are the same number of chromosomes in a liver cell as in every other cell of the human body: 48

The only exception is in the egg cell in the woman and the sperm cell in the man.  Those cells have 24.  When they combine and the egg is fertilized, the total becomes 48.  The egg is fertilized, and an embryo begins.

Any egg from any organism...a chicken, a duck, a goose, a deer, a human...*anything* is a single cell.  Yes, it may look big, but it is still only a single cell.  It may look big...but biologically it is a single cell.

I hope this answered your question.
