The Herceptin contains trastuzumab, which is a monocolonal antibody, used for the management of breast cancer. The usual duration of therapy is 12 months. It is given alone or in combination with chemotherapy. It has been seen that combination therapy showed better results. The remission period can not be calculated due to individual response of the patient and stage of disease at the start of this medicine. Some reports show that this drug reduces the risk of relapse in 50% of the patients when given after breast cancer surgery. For more information visit : Trastuzumab
