This type of counseling uses multiple theories to help clients. For example, an eclectic counselor may use Cognitive-Behavior therapy and incorporate other techniques such as Reality therapy, Bibliotherapy, etc. A counselor that is eclectic tends to "mold" their counseling strategies to the client's need(s).

Eclectic counseling what I understand is that you are not using directive technique or non directive technique to deal with the client. You choose the mode according the client's problem.
