I would think twice about doing it I right now have 2 pt with a supra pubic cath and it has been nothing but problems Maybe just their underlying issues but they still get UTIs and they have had issues where the cath gets block and it leaks from the urethra still (ones a male ones a female ) they both wish they never did it but I have had pts have a stoma in place and yes they int straight cath still risky for UTIs good luck with your decision
