I have been looking into that too. In Australia they are proposing that it is worth about $47, 300 us currency, while several others state $92,100, still in another instance $20,000 was paid on the black market in the UK, the average I have found appears to be $50,000. I say priceless, as living on machines and being in constant pain is a horrible way to live. Although post surgical drugs are no walk in the park they are nothing compared to their preoperative state of living or surviving. It should be legal, it should be an option, it would save many lives and help some people who choose the option to save their families from certain ruin due to a multitude of circumstance. No it should not be an utilized in place of viable work, but in this current economy it might well help many. It does however, open the door for all the dark, cruel individuals out there looking for some poor being to victimize. I feel this is where the true, sickest danger lies. Other than that it is a win, win situation all the way around. I think the medical profession in Australia is on the right track, their option makes the most sense. Offer a straight across the board payment for the organ to those choosing to sell. Sick (deviant not medically) beings are everywhere and will try to make a quick buck no matter what the laws are. But think of all the lives that might be saved. Many people would be more likely to look to this if there was monetary compensation, along with moral or personal gratification. Heck E-Bay just had a kidney online it was offered and the closing bid was well over five million, yes 5 MILLION dollars before they shut it down and pulled it off line. This was recent too ! Hope all this helps. These are but my humble opinions on the subject. I wish you luck in your pursuit.
