I think you mean ringworm, which is a fungus that lives on the skin. However this causes large itchy red or pink circles that get bigger and bigger. Lighter flaky patches could be a form of dermatitis which can be treated with cream, or something called vitiligo, which cause lightening of the skin. This is what Michael Jackson claims made him white!
