Today's technology is amazing. We are now able to regrow body parts such as retinas in laboratories that function just as perfectly as the ones you are born with. We also have artificial retinas made from what are essentially extremely small computers that work almost as well as the ones you are born with. The problem is that neither of these great things have the required approvals to be used yet. The current artificial retinas on the market that I'm aware of only let people see basically a focused blur. So if you are in need of a new retina and you want the best results, then its best to either apply for a clinical trial where they can regrow your retina, or just wait until the procedure is approved for general usage.
