Yes it very common that a person with asthma usually has some kind of allergies as well and this would usually be dust, pollen, dog fur allergies.
The smell of cigarettes would not cause the asthma or allergic reaction but the fact that the smell is there means that there are carbon and nicotine particles of the burned cigarette present which causes the reaction. As far as perfume is concerned sometimes strong perfumes do trigger asthmatic reactions but not sure of allergies if its not a skin allergy that is.

Yes!!  The chemicals in both cigarettes and perfume CAN cause an allergic reaction. Even if you enter a room that someone has left who has smoked or had perfume on, you can still have a reaction.  The "smell", so to speak, gets absorbed into the curtains, as well as anything with fabric. (sofa, clothes).  People who have children and smoke, feel that it is OK, to smoke outside and it is not harming their child.  IT IS!!  When they pick up the baby and hold the child, the child in inhaling the "2nd-3rd hand smoke".  Same goes for cat allergies.
