I was told that I have dehydrated kidneys. what is the cause and what to do?

Im not quite sure here but I suspect since all liquid taken into the body must pass thru the kidneys, I would venture to say youre not drinking enough liquids so your Kidneys are dehydrated and need more liquids before they start shutting down but your DR should have explained all this when they told you the diagnosis
