In all my years Ive never heard such a thing happening so its possible as a lot of strange things happening nowadays in the medical field. Ill ask my Oldest Daughter who is a ER/Trauma RN when she wakes up and let you know or maybe she can ask tonight at work and again will let you know tomorrow.
A healthy 40 y/o female pharmacist suddenly developed life-threatening osteomelitis in her hip. She spent 2 weeks in the ICU and 6 weeks in the hospital after that. She said the doctors think it is from shaving her legs. Does this sound plausable?
If the razor was dirty/ shared and cut the skin , perhaps the infection originated from that. Something as simple as that is scary to think about if it did.
I think the Doctors r grasping at straws!!! Shaving-PLEASE!!!
Osteomelitis is usually caused by a staph infection according to the internet.
It's rare, so getting it in the bone via a blood born staph infection would seem to be very possible.
