Nope, not ketchup! If it's bright red, sounds like hemorrhoids, if it's dark red or black, it's old blood and therefore coming from further up your digestive tract...like your intestines or stomach. Of course if it continues see a doctor.
Hi, I am 19 years old and have a normal diet. This morning I saw a red streak in my stool. Can that be the ketchup I had on my two burgers from yesterday?
No, it's not ketchup.
It's not unusual to see minor blood on stools, occasionally. But if it continues, you may want to talk to a doctor.
I don't think that's ketchup..
You should talk to your doctor.
Depends on the quantity of bright red blood. More than a teaspoon could indicate a lower GI Bleed. Dark blood with the appearance of coffee grounds could indicate digested blood from a upper GI bleed. Both could pose an immediate risk. A streak however as you described, is more than likely from something you ate.
