I had a few employees that were braggarts ! I used to tell them to put their money where their mouth is and show me what you can do ! Only one ever could do what he bragged about so much and the others quit. Quite an experience. Had a few of my long time employees complain about them also. Had to be fair and give them a chance.
Yep, a couple. And displeasure is the perfect word to describe them.
Sure. We all have to do that occasionally. They mostly run out of puff if you don't show them any respect.
Of course, there's always one....I happened to work opposite days as this particular person, and would find all the things left "undone" after having to listen to the braggertizing!.....New word!
I've had several jobs and there is always one.
I had a boss who did this. He even bragged about drug deals he was doing through work. He got arrested. Served time. Bragged about what an easy time he had, then a week after getting out, he tried to outrun cops and totaled his car. End of bragging.
What I usually do with these people is that I listen carefully and then ask them why they are providing this information to me. There is always the dumb-blank pause. They say they don't know, then they leave me alone.
