They are not sure they are living their lives for themselves, or for what others expect of them. They often make big changes, or are thrust into them, when this happens.

For example when I was in high school, I had an older brother who was in everything. He was in honor society, a service club, 3 sports. There was nowhere for me to find my own niche. I was always known as "Jim's sister". After high school I started dating someone and the relationship lasted 5 years. Then I was always known as "Craig's girlfriend". After the relationship ended I had to figure out who I was without being... Attached to someone else. That is when you find out who your real friends are, and who was your "friend" because they are friends of those you are attached to.  It took me a good year to figure it all out.
