Only 15 and I have very bad eye sight to the point where I cannot go out without my glasses or contacts. It makes me depressed knowing that without glasses I can't see. Tips on being less depressed about this all?

I can function without glasses, but I wouldn't want that to be the definition of "see" for anyone.

I once asked my opthamologist how I would have functioned back in the "cave man" days.

He replied:  "You would have tended the fire while the others hunted."

You will find that glasses will become a part of your life without interfering with it.

And an added bonus is that they protect your eyes in a number of situations that you are unaware of.  (Wind being one of them.)

I suspect it's somewhat different for contacts, but I have never been interested in them.

For one, be thankful your vision can be improved using glasses or contact lenses. My son has Iris Coloboma in his right eye, which is a birth defect. As I researched this, I found out that he is very lucky, as he could have been blind in that eye.

There are many, many millions of people that have to wear glasses or contact lenses. You are not the only one that is dependent on eyewear.

As was suggested, it might be possible that your vision can be corrected through surgery. Thankfulness is a wonderful trait to have.
