As a child I have thought deeply and thoroughly about committing suicide on more than one of occasion. But was never due to depression, more morbid curiosity. What does this mean about me?

Why do I picture you as one of those weirdo sickos who torture little animals for the sheer thrill of hearing them scream. YOU have a problem and need to seek professional help BEFORE you land yourself in a lonely prison cell.

Never mind. I am part of an organisation looking at the social acceptance of children on social media. I have now found sufficient proof for my point and I thank you forever more! I do hope you have a good day!

Morbid curiosity. Though there's a difference between thinking of something and considering it. People can think about how to commit murder efficiently in different ways, or how to rob a bank, etc, without actually thinking about whether they should do it, just the matters of doing it. If you were just wondering about the different ways you could without actually having an urge to kill yourself, then that could just be a normal way for a child to process things. If you were actually considering it, then that could indicate problems. Perhaps you were exposed to violence very often for a young age. Perhaps you didn't have much empathy and were bored often (which is something kids can grow out of.) It is very vague to tell. If you aren't troubled with such thoughts as an adult, it would be a bit fruitless to try to ask a psychiatrist about it now.

I'm not sure if suicide is something a child thinks about as a rule,  children often struggle with the idea of death and at a young age play act killing eachother and/ or dying but not in a way where it's treated as something final. Most children have anxieties about death and usually speak to family about it. Just wondering if someone you knew had committed suicide for you to even know about it to play through your mind?

@Joe Griffiths

People who say their going to commit suicide 90 chances out 100 are never going to do it . Usually the ones who remain with the thoughts stuck in their head or who are severely weak in the mind and don't talk about it usually do it..I wish you would contact www.NAMI.org  they have helped many people who think they are suffering with a mental illness.. You don't know nothing without a proper diagnosis so really you should seek someone professional.
