There are different types of cardiac dysrhthmias, or disorder of the heart rhythm, that can be caused by a disruption in the heats electrical conduction system. The heart beats in a synchronized manner based on these electric impulses. Any problem that occurs in any of these impulses or conduction system can cause cardiac dysrhythmias. Cardiac dysrhythmia is generally referred to as Cardiac arrhythmia. In simple terms this condition refers to a muscle contraction of the heart being slower or faster than it normally is. Different types of dysrhythmia are identified on the basis of the causes or area affected. Ventricular fibrillation, sustained episodes or ventricular tachycardia are conditions that can even be life threatening. Other varieties include Sinus bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome, multifocal atrial tachycardia etc.
