The same as all the other lobes. To move air into the lungs and oxygenate the blood.

There is no real difference in the function of one lobe from the other. The right lung has 3 lobes and the left has 2. There are some differences in pathology between them (e.g. The lower right lobe is more prone to certain infections), but generally there is no real difference in function.
