My grandma had a tumor in her stomach which had touched her liver and they cut half of her stomach out but she had cancer of the liver she lived about 8 months. I have a friend that has ovarian cancer that had spread to her liver and they cut some of her liver off and she been doing fine for about a year now.

I believe stage 4 would be untreatable. The survival time all depends on the individual. Your doctor could shed more light on this.

Stage 4 is usually terminal, and has the lowest survival rates of all stages of cancer. Unfortunately, by stage 4 the cancer has usually spread

If proper care is taken in any disease then the recovery rate would be quite high. In the case you've mentioned it would take just 6 months to 1 year.
