MRSA is staphylococcus bacterial infection which are resistant to many antibiotics. The incubation period of MRSA is 4-5 days. It means infection start to grow after 4-5 days of transmission. It is possible that your spider or insect bite became infected with MRSA and then transfered to your granddaughter. UTI infection due to MRSA can very long time to develop. The MRSA is treatable if correct antibiotics are used.

I was in close contact with a girl last week that said after the fact that she had mrsa.  We did not have sex and we had our clothes on for the most part but we did kiss a lot and I did touch her skin.  She said that she did currently have any open wounds or sours and neither did I. It has been about 6 days now and I don't seem to have any symptoms.  I was just wondering how long after contact of that sort with someone that has mrsa should I expect to see any sings if I was now a carrier of the disease?  Is it a sure thing that I now have mrsa or is there a chance that even though I have had contact with a person that has mrsa that I did not contract it?

MRSA is a toxious condition caused by staph infection in the bloodstream. When the bacteria enters the bloodstream, the body's natural response will be to release white bloodcells to attack the bacteria, therefore symptoms will be immediate. There is no incubation period for staph in the bloodstream.
