H Pylori is caused by ulcers. Ulcers can be healed faster by eliminating the H Pylori (bacteria). It sounds like your swelling and joint pain are being caused by something totally different. To read more about it, check this link:

Helicobacter pylori is a type of bacteria which the researchers believe is responsible for the majority of peptic ulcers. And it is very strange that you have gained weight because the ulcer is responsible for the weight losses. See here for more information:
