Although your temperature is slightly below what is should be, don’t be too alarmed. Even though ‘normal’ is around 98 degrees F, this is an average" meaning that some people will have a slightly cooler body temperature on occasions. You are just on the borderline before being a cause for concern, as under 95 degrees F can begin to signal some health problems. It’s also going to be an issue if you are looking to have children, as you need to have a basal temperature of between 96 and 98 degrees F if you’re going to be able to ovulate properly.

You should also ask yourself if there is anything about your lifestyle which could be causing this problem on a regular basis. Do you abuse alcohol or drugs regularly? Are you consuming medication that might cause this as a side effect? Have you been having problems with your liver or kidney recently? If the answer is ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you may have just found the answer that you are looking for.

If you’re still worried about your overall health, getting in touch with a GP or going to the walk-in centre can get your questions answered. It’s far better to be safe than sorry, and they won’t feel like you are wasting their time, especially if it becomes apparent that you do have a medical condition that needs to be addressed. Self diagnosis can be very dangerous in some circumstances, and therefore doesn’t always come recommended.

The normal body temperature is 98.6F. If you have 95F then it means your pulse is getting low. Your blood pressure is dropping. You must see your doctor for advice.

A persistently low body temperature needs checking out by a doctor as it could be caused by a number of things. Eg underactive thyroid gland or poor circulation.

I run a low body temperature and so does the rest of my family. Do not worry if this is what you have always done. All of my doctors know this and are not concerned. 98.6 is an average of many peoples average temperature not a perfect score. If I went to the hospital with a 99 temp my medical staff would realize that it was mild temp for me per my medical record.
