One Pouch of yeast is equal to 6 ¼ tablespoons or 6 ½ tablespoons as it can depend on the size of the pouch you have.

Yeast pouches are packed by weight rather than by volume so I cannot tell you exactly what your pouch will equal as it needs to be measured. However on average, a single packet of yeast should contain 6 ¼ tablespoons but can contain up to 6 ½ tablespoons of yeast as a tablespoon is the same as 17.75 millilitres.

Yeast is a fungus that converts starch and sugar into alcohol and carbon dioxide bubbles. It is widely used in the production of beer, bread and wine and there are many different varieties of it.

Baker's yeast is used to made bread as it creates bubbles that become trapped inside the dough so the bread rises making it ready to be baked. To make alcohol, beer yeast and wine yeast are used to convert the sugar and create bubbles.

Yeast is a good source of nutrients and brewer's yeast and nutritional yeast are sold as nutritional supplements, and extracts such as Vegemite, Marmite, and Promite are popular in different areas of the world.
