What is a right frontotemporal encephalomalacia?

My husband who had an anuerysm in 2005 now has a diagnosis of encephalomalacia. He is expeirenceing silent miagrains and headaches daily also behavioural issues, Is this common? What can be done about this and will a contrast dye help identify the degree of degenrative disease going on?
