There are numerous diseases caused by a lack of nutrients.

Kwashiorkor- lack of protein. This is a wasting disease whereby the body attacks its own tissues to make up for the starvation it is enduring.

Pernicious Anemia- caused by lack of vitamin B12.

Appetite Disorders- caused by lack of B vitamins and/or iron.

Loss of night vision- lack of vitamin A.

Bleeding Disorders- lack of vitamin K.

Nerve Disorders- lack of B vitamins.

Goiter- an enlarged thyroid gland caused by lack of iodine in the diet.

Anemia- lack of iron.

Scurvy- lack of Vitamin C.

Ricketts- a weakened bone condition caused by a lack of vitamin D.
