I believe Heterogeneous means the texture of the pancreas isn't showing up as one constant, but rather a mixture of different shades in the scan.
This is almost certainly a sign of pancreatic damage of some sort.
An echotexture is a term used to describe the image produced by a sonogram.
If that image returns as homogeneous, that means the texture of your pancreas is the same all the way through. That is a good sign.
If it varies in texture though, this could be caused by calcification or other pancreatic damage, and is a very serious signal that something is wrong.
