I'm surrounded by amazing friends who love + care about me but whenever I'm not with them I feel depressed. A lot's going on in my life right now and its difficult to remain positive when so much is putting me down?

Just look at the bright side of things. I am a little depressed too, and I deal with it by seeing the good things like "Oh, I have an extra egg today," or "Someone I don't know said hi." Best of luck my friend!

There is no magic cure for this. It requires you to find your inner strength when there's no one around you - except yourself. Remember how you feel when you're around your friends. Ask yourself why you feel those feelings. Is it because of who they are - what they talk about - because they're silly?

Once you figure this out, it will help you cope when you are by yourself. For example, if your friends do silly things to make you laugh, how can you accomplish that by yourself? Well, I'm assuming you have other friends - acquaintances - siblings - mother - father - other relatives?

What is something silly you can do with them / for them that will help you feel better?

Think of what you can do to help yourself when you're by yourself. This is so important to learn because you will be very poor company if you cannot stand yourself / if you cannot stand BY yourself.

I'm not saying that you cannot have friends - but you have to be able to fend for yourself / make yourself feel better - when you are alone. You have to know that you can do this. You have to find your inner strength so you know that no matter what life throws at you - you can handle it. Hope this helps.

Some of our emotional problems may be rooted in the past, especially if we were victims of unjust treatment. Be willing to forgive and forget. ‘Forgetting is not easy!’ you may be thinking. True, but it is better than destroying the rest of your life by dwelling on what cannot be undone. With God’s help, emotional support from others, and your own efforts, you will not be overwhelmed so that you give up. In time you can adjust to the depression, just as you would to any chronic illness. Endurance is not easy, but it is possible! Said a person who suffered from severe depression : “We didn’t even take it day by day. It was more like hour by hour.” May the same ever be true of you! Stay positive, be happy! :))

Think the persons who love you.. It's like a very cold water splash onto your face.. You will suddenly feel that you have two choices in life: Either to fight and go on or to remain negative that sooner will kill you ...
