I recently found out a family member has cancer. She's 23 years old and I'll be taking her to her first chemo therapy on Tuesday. What can I bring to make her comfortable?

The facility usually supplies a pillow and blankets for comfort and usually a TV. For the patient to pass time, you could bring books, magazines, tablet, laptop, etc. Most likely, she won't feel the effects of the chemo until after she gets home. THAT'S when she'll need some comfort.

Yourself ! Give that person all the support you can. That's the best thing to bring with you ! You'll see how much help that really is ! :)

Well that just sucks. I am so sorry to hear that. Give her something small that she can easily carry with her and hold. Something to give her strength, or to focus on for the future. A small stuffed tiger, or a picture of her pet,, or child if she has one. Or a symbol of something she would really like to do. Like a postcard of someplace or a figurine. Say she dreams of going to Paris so a small Eiffel Tower or a picture of the Arc de Triomphe. Or make up a playlist of inspirational songs.

I'm so sorry.  There's a girl in my homegroup going through chemotherapy at the moment.  I don't know her, but I'm worried for her, and I want to help her all I can.

It's probably not that helpful, but I find that chocolate helpsa lot when I'm in hospital.
