Have you ever been on the receiving end of someone else's temper tantrum?

Oh yes I have. I have a co-worker that deems himself a "professional", however, he's also OCD and when things get disrupted, he has a hissy fit meltdown at his desk, worthy of a 2 y/o child.

If we need something rushed through, our boss comes to me because I don't care if I'm disrupted or interrupted. Our job is to process the work through as quickly and efficiently as possible. So, when the workers on the field need something rushed through, I'm the steady-eddy that gets those requests.

My mother also could not tolerate any disruptions in her routines. She wasn't OCD, she was just a b*tch and very controlling.

How has your experience been, Zack?

:) Is this something that happens on a regular basis?

Sometimes. I got to try something so that I don't "lose it".

Zach, if it's a work related situation, the best thing to do is remain calm, even when it's hard. You never know who is watching your reaction to the tantrum. If it's your boss, you might just say - perhaps it's better to talk about this at another time - and then walk away. Don't stomp off in a huff. Just simply go back to your desk.

If this is family related, depending on who it is, you might just say - it might be better to talk about this when you're calmer. You have the right not to be the recipient of a volcano spewing all over you.
