This wound needs to be examined by a veterinarian. This wound needs at least antibiotics and you need to prevent your dog from licking or biting the wound. You can stop the licking from by placing an Elizabethan Collar on your dog or potentially a bandage--depending upon the site of the wound. If this is an infected mass or tumor then it may need to be removed to solve this problem.
