Yes, staphylococcus bacteria can infect virtually any part of the body including bone.

It depends how deeply infected the wound is.  But, yes.  My ex-husband is now a double amputee as a result of MRSA infections.  Both feet went gangrenous.  Ick.  It's pretty sad these days.
