Can And Ingrown Toe Nail Infection Turn Into Mrsa?

Yes, I believe it can.  I have had terribly infected ingrown
toenails all my life, and it is lucky that I never got it that
infected  - because I cut in and got them out;  

this last time, I could not get it out so I went to dr., and
he told me if I did not quit working on  the toe, it would
get so infected that it would have to be amputated  !

I am actually sitting in my daughter's room in the hospital where she is being treated for mrsa related to an ingrown toe nail.  Her infection has gone into her bone.  Now she will be on a 4 to 6 wk IV program.  The antibiotic has to be administered 3 times a day and lasts for 2 hours each time.  My suggestion is to see a good podiatrist if your toe gets worse quickly or has been sore for too long.

No but it might get infected, see doctor about how to clip and so on. If severe may need an antibiotic
